この曲はビートルズ解散後のジョン・レノンの初の単独アルバム『ジョンの魂(John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band)』に収録されました。１９７０年でした。ジョンのアコギとフィル・スペクターのピアノだけのシンプルな演奏でした。
この曲がシングルカットされたのは１９８２年のことでした。
一方、レターメン(The Lettermen)は１９７１年にカバーし、これがヒットしました。日本ではジョン・レノン・バージョンよりこちらの方が有名になったくらいです。
