さて、今年最初の聴き比べはキンクス(The Kinks)の『ローラ(Lola)』です。
キンクス、久々の登場です。この曲はキンクスのイギリスでの９枚目のアルバム『Lola versus Powerman and the Moneygoround, Part One(ローラ対パワーマン、マネーゴーラウンド組第一回戦)』に収録された曲です。
キンクスは前々作の『ヴィレッジグリーン』からコンセプトアルバムを作るようになり、この『ローラ』も音楽業界を風刺したコンセプトアルバムになっています。彼らのコンセプトアルバムは評価は高かったものの商業的にはイマイチだったのですが、このアルバムは商業的にも久々の成功となりました。
