Ｒ＆Ｂ界の王者、オーティス・レディング。たった２６歳の若さでこの世を去った男の最後に残した録音です。
１９６７年１２月７日に録音を完了させ、その３日後に飛行機事故で逝ってしまいました。
ブッカー・T&ザ・MG'sのスティーブ・クロッパー(Steve Cropper)との共作です。スティーヴがプロデュースしました。ビルボード１位 、年間でも６位となるオーティス最大のヒットとなりました。ラジオからは毎日のように流れていました。
多くの人がカバーしました。
