今日の「聴き比べ」はザ・バンド(The Band)の『同じことさ(It Makes No Difference)』です。
この曲はザ・バンドの１９７５年のアルバム『南十字星(Northern Lights – Southern Cross)』に収録された、ロビー・ロバートソン(Robbie Robertson)の曲です。ヴォーカルはリック・ダンコ(Rick Danko)です。
アルバム『南十字星』は彼らの７枚目のアルバムでした。キャピトルとの契約上、１９７７年にラストアルバム『Island』がリリースされますが、実質上のラストアルバムは『南十字星』でした。このアルバムは傑作との評価にもかかわらず、売り上げはいま一つでした。そしてメンバー間の軋轢も深まってきていました。そして１９７６年に解散に至ったわけです。その最後のコンサートの模様が１９７８年には『ラストワルツ』として映画化され、レコードも３枚組でリリースされました。
その傑作アルバムの中の名曲がこの『同じことさ(It Makes No Difference)』です。
