今日の「聴き比べ」はエディ・コクラン(Eddie Cochran)の『カモン・エヴリバディ(C'mon Everybody)』です。
エディ・コクランについては以前にも『サマータイム・ブルース(Summertime Blues)』で聴き比べました。
この曲は１９５８年の発表で、「サマータイム・ブルース」に続くヒットとなりました。作詞・作曲も「サマータイム・ブルース」と同じコンビ、エディ・コクランとジェリー・ケープハート(Jerry Capehart)です。
エディ・コクランもまた１９６０年、２１歳の若さで亡くなっています。自動車事故でした。バディ・ホリーに続き若きロックンローラーの早世は非常に惜しまれました。これ以降、ロックンロールは下火になってゆきます。
