この曲は元々がポール・サイモン(Paul Simon)がイギリスで活動中にソロアルバムとして発表した『ポール・サイモン・ソングブック(The Paul Simon Songbook)』に収録された曲で、その後Ｓ＆Ｇの１９６６年のセカンド・アルバム『サウンド・オブ・サイレンス(Sound of Silence)』に収録され、シングル・カットされました。
