今日の「聴き比べ」は『コンドルは飛んでいく(El Cóndor Pasa)』です。
私がこの曲を知ったのはサイモン＆ガーファンクル(Simon & Gerfunkel)の１９７０年のアルバム『明日に架ける橋(The Bridge Over Troubled Water)』によってでした。
原曲は１９１３年にペルーの作曲家ダニエル・アロミア=ロブレスが作った曲で、３部構成になっており、オペラの序曲として発表されました。したがって詩はありませんでした。その後、１９６０年以降、様々な人が詩を付けました。
サイモン＆ガーファンクル＆がカバーしたバージョンの元はロス・インカスというグループの演奏がもとになっています（以上、ウィキペディアより）。
なんとももの悲しいメロディーが胸に残りました。
