聴き比べ ウォーカー・ブラザーズ『孤独の太陽(In My Room)』

今日の「聴き比べ」はウォーカー・ブラザーズ(The Walker Brothers)でヒットした『孤独の太陽(In My Room)』です。

ウォーカー・ブラザーズは元はアメリカのバンドですがイギリスで大成功を納めます。日本でも絶大なる人気を誇りました。「ダンス天国」や「太陽はもう輝かない」などヒット曲も多数です。特に「ダンス天国」は当時のグループサウンズの定番曲となっていました。スコットとジョンとゲイリー・ウォーカーの３人ですが、兄弟ではありません。

そんな彼らの１９６７年の曲で日本のみでシングル発売された曲です。私はこの曲をウォーカー・ブラザーズで知ったのですが、元はヴァーデル・スミス(Verdelle Smith)が１９６６年に歌っていました。
