今日の「この人の、この１枚」はスペンサー・デイヴィス・グループ(The Spencer Davis Group)の『Mojo Rhythms & Midnight Blues - Vol.1: Sessions 1965-1968』です。
「ＣＤ時代の未発表音源シリーズ」、今回はスペンサー・デイヴィス・グループです。ご承知のようにこのバンドはスティーヴ・ウィンウッド(Steve Winwood)の出身グループです。スティーヴは結成時の１９６３年から１９６７年まで在籍しました。その後トラフィック(Traffic)を結成します。バンド自体は１９６９年に一旦解散します。スティーヴの退団が大きかったのです。スティーヴのソウルフルなヴォーカルが売りのバンドでした。スペンサー・デイヴィス(Spencer Davis - g)、スティーヴの兄のマフ・ウィンウッド(Muff Winwood - b,vo)、それにピート・ヨーク(Pete York - ds)というラインナップでした。
今回取り上げるのは『Mojo Rhythms & Midnight Blues - Vol.1: Sessions 1965-1968』です。Vol.2は次回取り上げます。
