今日の「聴き比べ」はクリスティ(Christie)の『イエロー・リバー(Yellow River)』です。
クリスティはイギリスのバンドです。リーダーはジェフ・クリスティ(Jeff Chrisie)。
１９７０年にジェフは同じくイギリスの人気バンド、トレメローズ(The Tremeloes)のためにこの『イエロー・リバー』を提供しました。
トレメローズは一旦は録音しましたが、彼らの向かう方向性と合わないという理由で、リリースを見送りました。プロデューサーはそれならばとトレメローズの録音からヴォーカルだけジェフ・クリスティに入れ替えて発表しました。
皮肉なことにこれが売れて全英ナンバーワンになり、ビルボードでも２３位となる大ヒットになりました。日本でも売れました。
