この曲は１９７６年のボブ・ディラン(Bob Dylan)のアルバム『欲望(Desire)』に収録された曲です。
このアルバムはシングルの「ハリケーン(Hurricane)」のヒットと共にボブ・ディランのアルバムでもトップクラスのヒットアルバムになりました。「ハリケーン」は冤罪で投獄されたボクサー、ルービン・ハリケーン・カーターの無実を訴えた歌でした。
このアルバムにはエミルー・ハリス(Emmylou Harris)が参加していますが、彼女の知名度も一気に上がりました。それとスカーレット・リヴェラ(Scarlet Rivera)のバイオリンが何とも言えぬ哀愁感を漂わせています。エキゾチックなメロディが何とも言えません。

この曲を、以前にも紹介したザ・ホワイト・ストライプス(The White Stripes)がカバーしました。１９９９年のデビューアルバムでした。
このアルバは後になってから購入したのですが、この曲をカバーしているのを見て驚きました。そして荒々しい演奏にもビックリでしたが、ガレージ感たっぷりで、これはこれでありです。
