今日の「聴き比べ」はビートルズ(The Beatles)の『アクロス・ザ・ユニバース(Across the Universe)』です。
何故かまたまたビートルズです。古いレコードを引っ張り出して、ファーストから聴き始め、ようやく最終アルバム『レット・イット・ビー(Let It Be)』にたどり着きました。しばらく懐かしい気分に浸りました。その『Let It Be』の中から１曲です。
この曲はレノン＝マッカートニー名義ですがジョン・レノンの曲です。そういえば映画『レット・イット・ビー』でも歌われていましたね。この曲もご多分に漏れず様々なバージョンがあります。
繰り返し歌われる「Jai Guru Deva Om…」はサンスクリット語で「我らが導師、神に勝利あれ（神に感謝を）」という意味だそうです。
