今日の「聴き比べ」はまたまたビートルズ(The Beatles)です。アルバム『マジカル・ミステリー・ツアー(Magical Mystery Tour)』に収録された『ユア・マザー・シュッド・ノウ(Your Mother Should Know)』です。元々映画『マジカル・ミステリー・ツアー』の挿入歌でした。
作者名義は例によってレノン―マッカートニーとなっていますが、実質ポール・マッカートニーの曲です。
内容は母子間の気持ちのすれ違いを歌っています。いかにもポールらしいメロディーです。
余談ですが、先日ニュースでビートルズの日本盤の茶帯のレコード『ビートルズ’６５(BEATLES FOR SALE)』の入札販売があり、なんと１２０万の値が付いたそうです。早速自分のレコード引っ張り出して見てみたら、緑帯でした。残念！
