聴き比べ ＦＢＢとリンダ『コロラド(Colorado)』

今日の「聴き比べ」は『コロラド(Colorado)』です。

この曲はフライング・バリット・ブラザース(The Flying Burrito Brothers,FBB)が１９７１年に発表した３枚目のアルバム『The Flying Burrito Brothers』に収録されました。

バンドの主役のグラム・パーソンズ(Gram Parsons)は前作を最後にバンドを脱退しました。バンドは代わりにリック・ロバーツ(Rick Roberts)を加入させました。リックはこの時はまだ知名度もあまりありませんでした。後にファイアーフォール(Firefall)を結成します。そのリック・ロバーツが作った曲です。

この曲はいかにもコロラド、という感じがして（よくわかりませんが）、雄大な気持ちにさせてくれます。グラムが去ったＦＢＢの中では最高の曲です。

この曲をリンダ・ロンシュタッド(Linda Ronstadt)がカバーしました。アルバム『Don't Cry Now』です。このアルバムは先日の「Desperado」をはじめ「Sail Away」「I Believe In You」など名曲が目白押しです。

もう一人大事な人がカバーしていた記憶があるのですが思い出せません。認知症予備軍です。
