今日の「聴き比べ」はまたしてもサイモン＆ガーファンクル(Simon & Garfunkel)です。
昨日の「サウンド・オブ・サイレンス」と同じく、１９６７年のアメリカ映画『卒業』の挿入歌になった『ミセス・ロビンソン(Mrs.Robinson)』です。アメリカン・ニューシネマの代表作となりました。
「ミセス・ロビンソン」とはダスティン・ホフマン扮するベンジャミンの浮気相手のご婦人のことです。アン・バンクラフトが演じました。そして恋人となるエレーンをキャサリン・ロスです。キャサリン・ロスはこの後『明日に向かって撃て』に出演しアカデミー賞主演女優賞を受賞しました。きれいだった！
この映画のことは以前にも書いた記憶がありますが、ラストシーンのバスの中のベンジャミンの表情が忘れられません。
この曲は後に４枚目のアルバム『ブックエンド(Bookends)』に収録されました。
S&Gの中でも５本の指に入るくらいに好きな曲です。軽快さがグッドです。

この曲をオルタナ・バンドのレモンヘッズ(The Lemonheads)がカバーしました。
１９９２年のアルバム『It's a Shame About Ray』です。私は彼らのアルバムを２枚しか持っていませんがたまたまその２枚の中にこのアルバムが入っていました。それもボーナストラックでした。
やっぱりサイモン＆ガーファンクルですね。このアルバム『ブックエンド』には他にも名曲揃いです。彼らの地位を決定づけたアルバムでしょう。
