この曲はビリー・ジョエルの１９７６年のアルバム『ニューヨーク物語(Turnstiles)』に収録された曲です。
ビリー・ジョエルが生まれ故郷のニューヨークへの想いを歌った曲です。不思議なことにシングル発売はありませんでした。アルバム自体もさほどのヒットにはなりませんでした。
この翌年に例の『ストレンジャー(The Stranger)』が大ヒットし一躍大スターへと上り詰めました。以後の活躍はご承知のとおりです。
