今日の「聴き比べ」はサンディ・デニー (Sandy Denny)の『時の流れを誰が知る (Who Knows Where the Time Goes?)』です。
この曲は元々はサンディ・デニーがストローブス(Strawbs)在籍時の１９６７年に作って録音しましたが、このアルバム『All Our Own Work』はしばらくの間リリースされませんでした。
そうこうしているうちにこの曲がジュディ・コリンズ(Judy Collins)の手に渡り、１９６８年、ジュディはシングル『青春の光と影』のＢ面にこの曲を録音し、さらにこの曲をアルバム・タイトルにして『Who Knows Where the Time Goes』をリリースしました。
一方、サンディはストローブスを辞め、１９６８年にフェアポート・コンヴェンション(Fairport Convention)に参加しました。そして彼らの１９６９年にリリースされた３枚目のアルバム『Unhalfbricking』でこの曲をセルフ・カバーしました。
その後、彼女はソロになってもこの曲を歌い続けました。
その後、１９７３年になって、ストローブスの『All Our Own Work』がようやく発売されました。
