今日の「聴き比べ」はジャクソン・ブラウン(Jackson Browne)の『青春の日々(These Days)』です。
この曲はジャクソン・ブラウンが１６歳のころに作った曲で、彼はデモ・テープを作って音楽事務所に持ち込みました。そしてヴェルヴェット・アンダーグラウンド(The Velvet Underground)と活動していたニコ(Nico)が最初にレコーディングし、彼女の１９６７年のファースト・アルバム『チェルシー・ガールChelsea Girl』 に収録されました。
１９６８年にはニッティ・グリッティ・ダート・バンド(Nitty Gritty Dirt Band)がシングル発売しました。
そして１９７３年に、この先長い付き合いになるグレッグ・オールマン(Gregg Allman)が最初のソロアルバム『レイド・バッグ(Laid Back)』でカバーしました。
そしてこの年にジャクソン・ブラウン本人がセカンド・アルバム『フォー・エヴリマン(For Everyman)』でセルフカバーしたのです。
