今日の「聴き比べ」は『ロコ・モーション(The Loco-Motion)』です。
この曲は年代によって聴いたアーティストが異なっているのではないかと思います。
私などはグランド・ファンク・レイルロード(Grand Funk Railroad, GFR)(この曲をリリースした時はグランド・ファンクにバンド名を変更しています）が一番馴染みがありますが、私たちより上の世代はやはりオリジナルのリトル・エヴァ（Little Eva)の歌唱がピッタリ来るのでしょう。
そして私たちより後の世代はカイリー・ミノーグ(Kylie Minogue)かもしれません。
この曲の作者は作詞がジェリー・ゴフィン(Gerry Goffin)、作曲はキャロル・キング(Carole King)の元夫婦の黄金コンビです。１９６２年にリトル・エヴァのシングルでビルボードの１位を記録するヒットになりました。
その後、多くの人にカバーされました。
１９７４年に先ほどのグランド・ファンクがカバーしてこれまたビルボードの1位に輝き、彼らにとっても最大のヒットになりました。

日本でも早くも伊東ゆかりさんがカバーしています。日本語です。
