今日の「この人の、この１枚」はフェアポート・コンヴェンション(Fairport Convention)の『Live at the BBC』です。
「ＣＤ時代の未発表音源シリーズ」、またまたフェアポート・コンヴェンションですが、これで最後にします。きりがありません。
今回のアルバムはフェアポート・コンヴェンションがＢＢＣにに残した音源を集めた４枚組です。その一部はレコード時代に『Heyday - The BBC Sessions 1968-1969』というタイトルで発売されていました。その後、ボーナストラック付きでＣＤでも発売されました。それが２００７年にほぼ完ぺきな形でリリースされました。ブックレットも素晴らしく申し分ありません。『Heyday』で主な曲は聴けますが、その他にも貴重な音源がたくさんあります。特にサンディ・デニーファンにはたまりません。

録音は１９６７年から１９７４年までです。特にサンディが歌っているDisc1~3の途中までは強力です。エリック・アンダーソン、ジョニ・ミッチェル、ボブ・ディラン、レナード・コーエン、ジーン・クラーク、などいろんなミュージシャンのカバー曲が聴けます。やはりイギリスは凄いことをやってくれます。
フェアポート・コンヴェンションはこの他にも素晴らしいコンピレーション・アルバム、ボックスセットが数多くあります。４枚組のボックスセット『Fairport Unconvention』なども未発表曲やレアトラックが多く収録されて、ブックレットも立派で宝物になります。
