今日の「聴き比べ」はボビー・ヘブ(Bobby Hebb)の『サニー(Sunny)』です。
６０歳以上のほとんどの方はこの曲を知っているのではないでしょうか。とにかくカバーした人の数が異常に多い曲です。ですからオリジナルは誰だったのか知らない人も多いかもしれません。
１９６３年にアメリカのＲ＆Ｂ、ソウル歌手でソングライターのボビー・ヘブがこの曲を作りました。
本人が録音したのは１９６６年で大ヒットしました。ところがそれより少し前の１９６５年録音で、１９６６年にリリースされた、日本の歌手弘田三枝子さんのアルバム『ニューヨークのミコ』に収録されたそうなのです。これには驚きました。私が最初に聴いたのはもしかしたらこれだったのかもしれません。
